Any male resident of Japan, or many other men around the world who have been fortunate enough to have spent time with Japanese women, will no doubt have felt a mixture of feelings towards Japanese women - probably including curiosity, and to begin with, confusion as they try to understand someone from a culture considerably different from their own.
